What if?

What if I turned in a Masters Project that consisted of a series of zines? One could be a collection of freshman writing, and another could be a book of questions I’ve grappled with (and continue to do so).

What if I taught research as storytelling?

What if I set up my Composition course to resemble the Creative Writing course I took in my undergrad?

What if I had craft day where we made things instead of writing papers?

What if they don’t talk?

What if I underestimate their ability to understand the material?

What if I overestimate it?

What if we did research using the University Archives?

What if I get a job at a community college after I graduate and have to teach 5 courses per semester? How would I teach those courses without getting burnt out?

What if I have the flu? I really hope that I don’t/am not on my way there. No fever, thank God.

  1. Teaching research as storytelling is a great idea – qualitative and narrative – collage is a great craft activity for people of all ages – try some kind of topic related to self-exploration – you have to talk and they will, too – probably more than you like – teaching has an energy all of its own – you can do as many courses as they assign you! You’ll teach even if you do have the flu – what else can you do? They are counting on you. Good luck.
